Kole is on a mission to climb all 263 (known) spires in Sedona. Having climbed 156 of them, he’s got some stories, photos, and beta (plus a guide in the works) to share! Join us for an evening of sand filled stories full of jumps, leans, and squeezing through the vortex, all for that unique experience of standing a top a Sedona spire.

Brent is the designer and owner of Avant Climbing Innovations, executive director of the Coco-op (local makerspace), and also happens to be a professional rock climber with many notable and uniquely executed ascents. Join us for a fascinating presentation about Brent’s experiences pushing the limits of rock climbing while inventing some of the tools to do so along the way.

This event will also include Lobster Food Truck.

Climber coffee is now birds and bubbles because who wants a hot coffee while hiking to the crag… Catch the NAZCC and Forest Service biologists to learn about the birds that nest on the cliffs we climb. Grab a refreshing fizzy drink and come chat!

Join us on Saturday, June 8th for a full day of floating on East Clear Creek where we will be cleaning up trash and powerwashing graffiti from the walls.

Bring your own water, snacks, sun protection, watercraft and personal floatation device. All other trash clean-up supplies will be provided. There will be a larger boat to gather the trash you pick up along the way. The end-of-day BBQ is for volunteers that help with the clean-up and food will be provided but feel free to bring stuff to add to the mix!

Join us for our next Pint Night, a panel discussion on motherhood and climbing with Betsy Whited, Emily Bowman, and Ryan Fogel.

We’ve invited these local moms (who also happen to be major crushers) to share their insight and experiences. Come listen to how they have continued rock climbing throughout all stages of motherhood and what advice they may give to aspiring mothers. Discussion facilitated by Lucy Vollbrecht and Sarah Holditch.

Please join us for this very important Pint Night regarding the recent climbing management drafts issued by the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service.
Both drafts are open for public comment until January 16th. We believe it’s highly important for our community to understand how this will affect wilderness climbing and submit well-informed comments.

We will have Forest Service representative, Paul Dawson, in attendance to provide an overview of the USFS draft and are currently working on inviting more informed parties to shed light on the implications of these proposals.Please note that this is not a debate or formal way to voice your comments but rather an informational, question/answer session to better understand how this guidance might take effect and how you can submit formal comments.

This Pint Night is gonna rock! Have you ever wondered why limestone has pockets? Why basalt forms in columns? Or why some sandstone is bomber and other is total choss…? Well then, you do not want to miss this Pint Night. We invited renowned geologist Wayne Ranney to shed some light on the questions have all pondered but never remembered to look up when we’re back from the crag with a beer in hand.

Wayne has been studying geology in the Southwest since the 70s, has written several books, and continues to share his passion through lectures and guided expeditions. Come out, drink a beer, order some food and gain a whole new understanding of the rock we climb on.

Come out and join us for a night of art, music and community! We are thrilled to be hosting this event with @flagstaffclimbing to celebrate the artistically inclined members of our community. This is an opportunity for artists to sell and showcase their creations while bringing the community out to raise funds for future events and projects for the NAZCC.

We will be selling drinks, merchandise, and having a silent auction with donated pieces.

Ever wonder what goes into keeping a crag accessible? A well maintained approach trail helps!

We are partnering with the U.S. Forest Service to work on some sections of the approach trail to The Pit. This work will involve moving rocks, re-naturalizing social trails and stabilizing loose and slippery parts of the trail. No experience trail building is required!

What to bring/wear: Long pants, long sleeve shirt, sturdy closed toed shoes or boots, ample water, snacks, sunscreen.
What we will provide: Gloves, tools, hard hats, safety instructions, breakfast and coffee

Join us on Saturday, June 3rd for a full day of boating on East Clear Creek where we will be cleaning up trash in the water. We will also be working to move debris and investigate where there may be semi-submerged logs under climbing areas(if you have a fish finder please bring it!). There will be a barbecue afterwards so feel free to bring stuff to put on the grill!

Plan on launching from the McHood parking lot near the bridge at 10am or meet us out there!

Ryan will be providing a little insight on how to prevent finger and wrist injuries (hear they’re on the rise…) followed by open discussion and questions. Come hang and learn how to care for the hands we use to crimp sharp rock, shove in cracks and ask not to snap when we dangle from mono pockets.

Join us before the showing of REEL Rock on March 25th for a little pre-party socializing at Pay ‘N Take while simultaneously raising funds for our work! Stop on by from 4-6pm, then we’ll rally to the show at the Orpheum across the street!
