Join us for an evening of sand filled stories full of jumps, leans, and squeezing through the vortex, all for that unique experience of standing a top a Sedona spire.

Annual East Clear Creek Clean Up

Annual East Clear Creek Clean Up

Join us on Saturday, June 8th for a full day of floating on East Clear Creek where we will be cleaning up trash and powerwashing graffiti from the walls.

Bring your own water, snacks, sun protection, watercraft and personal floatation device. All other trash clean-up supplies will be provided. There will be a larger boat to gather the trash you pick up along the way. The end-of-day BBQ is for volunteers that help with the clean-up and food will be provided but feel free to bring stuff to add to the mix!

9:00-10:00am Meet-Up/Orientation at the McHood Park Ramada
10:00am-1:00pm Paddle, pick up trash, and power-wash graffiti
1:00-3:00pm Have fun & deep water solo!
3:00-5:00pm BBQ at the McHood Park Ramada

Pint Night: The Future of Wilderness Climbing

Please join us for this very important Pint Night regarding the recent climbing management drafts issued by the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service.
Both drafts are open for public comment until January 16th. We believe it’s highly important for our community to understand how this will affect wilderness climbing and submit well-informed comments.

We will have Forest Service representative, Paul Dawson, in attendance to provide an overview of the USFS draft and are currently working on inviting more informed parties to shed light on the implications of these proposals.Please note that this is not a debate or formal way to voice your comments but rather an informational, question/answer session to better understand how this guidance might take effect and how you can submit formal comments.

Pint Night: Geology with Wayne Ranney

This Pint Night is gonna rock! Have you ever wondered why limestone has pockets? Why basalt forms in columns? Or why some sandstone is bomber and other is total choss…? Well then, you do not want to miss this Pint Night. We invited renowned geologist Wayne Ranney to shed some light on the questions have all pondered but never remembered to look up when we’re back from the crag with a beer in hand.

Wayne has been studying geology in the Southwest since the 70s, has written several books, and continues to share his passion through lectures and guided expeditions. Come out, drink a beer, order some food and gain a whole new understanding of the rock we climb on.

Volunteer Trail Work Day: Waterfall

Do you love climbing at the Waterfall? We are teaming up with the US Forest Service to work on some sections of the approach trail to the Waterfall. Come help us give back to this area by volunteering a morning to improve this access trail so that people don’t get lost and inadvertently damage habitat and contribute to erosion. These kind of projects are necessary to keep these crags accessible and open! No experience trail building necessary!

Volunteer Trail Work Day: The Pit

Ever wonder what goes into keeping a crag accessible? A well maintained approach trail helps!

We are partnering with the U.S. Forest Service to work on some sections of the approach trail to The Pit. This work will involve moving rocks, re-naturalizing social trails and stabilizing loose and slippery parts of the trail. No experience trail building is required!

What to bring/wear: Long pants, long sleeve shirt, sturdy closed toed shoes or boots, ample water, snacks, sunscreen.
What we will provide: Gloves, tools, hard hats, safety instructions, breakfast and coffee

This one's for the birds. Who are these birds that share interest in the climbing areas we love to visit?! Peregrines, owls, and other falcons… Might as well get to know them!
Wildlife biologist with the Flagstaff Ranger District, Amy Madara will join us to share some of her knowledge about these fine birds and shed some insight as to why we should respect their nesting places. Come perch with a pint and learn about birds!
@fatboyztacoz will have their truck ready to serve up some delicious tacos, so come hungry!

Annual East Clear Creek Clean Up

Join us on Saturday, June 3rd for a full day of boating on East Clear Creek where we will be cleaning up trash in the water. We will also be working to move debris and investigate where there may be semi-submerged logs under climbing areas(if you have a fish finder please bring it!). There will be a barbecue afterwards so feel free to bring stuff to put on the grill!

Plan on launching from the McHood parking lot near the bridge at 10am or meet us out there!
